General Policy Questions
Premiums can change from year to year for a range of reasons, including repair and parts costs, claims trends, your agreed value, where the vehicle is stored, how often it is used, and broader insurance market conditions. If your renewal premium has increased and you would like to review your options, call us on 1300 261 261.
Yes. In some cases, reviewing your agreed value, changing your excess, or discussing laid-up cover can help reduce your premium. We can talk through the options and help you choose cover that better suits how you use your RV.
No. You do not need to be a CMCA member to insure with KT Insurance. If you are comparing your KT policy with another option available through a membership, we are happy to help you review your cover and premium before you decide.
Payments, Renewals and Managing Your Policy
If your policy is set to auto-renew, we will use the payment details on file to renew your policy each year so your cover does not accidentally end. We will send your renewal offer before the renewal date. If you would prefer to renew manually, call us before your renewal date to opt out.
Opting out of auto-renewal means we will not automatically take payment when your policy is due to renew, and it will expire on the renewal date. We will still send you your renewal offer before the renewal date. If you would like your cover to continue, please contact us before the renewal date to confirm this and your payment details.
If a payment fails, we will usually try again and may contact you to update your details. To avoid any risk of your policy lapsing, please either contact us on 1300 261 261 or log into our online secure payment portal to check your payment status and update your details securely.Â
Call us on 1300 261 261 to update your payment details or use our online secure payment portal. For your security, never send full card details by email. We will only take payment details securely.
Yes. Monthly and annual payments are both available. If you want to change your payment frequency, contact us and we will explain what is possible based on your policy stage.
Call us on 1300 261 261 and we can update your policy details. Keeping your contact details, storage address, vehicle information and driver details current helps make sure your cover remains accurate.
Call us and let us know the date you sold the vehicle or the date you want cover to end. If you cancel partway through your policy period, you may be entitled to a refund of the unused portion of your premium, less any applicable fees. In some cases, proof of sale or disposal may be required.
If you have recently taken out or renewed a policy, you may be able to cancel within the cooling-off period and receive a full refund, provided you have not made a claim. Contact us as soon as possible if you want to discuss this.
Cover, Claims and New Policy Questions
KT Insurance specialises in recreational vehicles including caravans, motorhomes, campervans, camper trailers and fifth wheelers. If you are unsure whether your vehicle is eligible, contact our team and we can talk you through it. For further details you can also refer to the Product Disclosure Statement.
KT policies do not include general roadside assistance for issues such as flat batteries, tyre changes, lockouts, or running out of fuel. However, your policy may include towing in certain situations, such as following an insured incident or other circumstances outlined in your policy documents.Â
Agreed value is the amount your RV is insured for and it is shown on your policy schedule. In some cases, we may require proof of value such as a valuation, invoice or supporting documents.
Yes. If you would like to review your agreed value, excess, storage details or other policy information, contact us and we can explain how the changes may affect your premium and cover.
Call our claims team on 1300 261 261 during opening hours and we will help you lodge your claim. If you have already lodged a claim and need an update, call the same number and we can assist.
Your excess is shown on your policy schedule. Any additional excesses or conditions are set out in your Product Disclosure Statement (PDS). If you are making a claim and want to understand how your excess applies, contact our team.
You can start a quote online, but it may need to be finalised over the phone so we can confirm a few details and make sure the cover is right for you. If you already have a quote reference, contact us and we can help complete it.
To prepare a quote, it helps to have the make, model and year of the vehicle, registration details if available, the value you want it insured for, where it is stored, and the driver details for anyone who will use it.
We can arrange for your policy to start from the date you need cover, including the day you collect your vehicle in many cases. If you are buying a new vehicle and some details are not yet available, contact us early so we can explain what is needed to have cover ready.
We will take payment securely when your policy is set up. For security reasons, payment details should only be provided through approved secure channels.
