The CMCA National Rally in Bingara, NSW was a fantastic opportunity for the KT Insurance team to enjoy the company of members. We thoroughly appreciated the friendliness and hospitality extended at every site we visited, with many lovely discussions had when members graciously invited us into their homes. One such interaction was with Roz Clenton who has spent over a decade exploring Australia in her Mercedes Sprinter motorhome that’s affectionally known as ‘Benzie’ and has clocked up many kilometres ‘Sprint’n Round De Benz’.
“This is my first RV and I’ve owned it since 2010,” Roz begins. “After working hard, I wanted to change the whole structure of my life and have a completely different lifestyle. I lived full time in Benzie for 3 years before settling in Casino, NSW in 2013, but I still go on trips for 7 to 11 months a year. The RV lifestyle means freedom. Not only freedom of choice in how I camp, but freedom as to where I go, how long I drive, how many months I’m out there; it’s total freedom!”
“I’ve been with the CMCA since 2010,” Roz continues. “My sister was a member and I knew that they had a solid solo network. As a virgin traveller, the assurance of a large club helped me become familiar with life on the road. I spend the majority of the time alone but no matter where I am, the CMCA is my shroud. I’m also part of the Highway Wanderers chapter, which is another layer of protection with the comfort as a solo traveller that someone is just a call away. It goes both ways too; I’ve currently got a solo traveller in my home at Casino for 3 weeks waiting for her gearbox to be repaired. That’s what we do and who we are; we help each other out, and that’s the main reason why I wanted to join the CMCA.”
“I’ve been with KT Insurance since 2010 too, and I don’t intend to change as that was another major reason for me joining the CMCA,” Roz adds. “Value for money is important for me when it comes to insurance. KT Insurance is not necessarily the cheapest, but it does give me the value for the dollars. Obviously, we all would like a cheaper premium, but if cheaper insurance leaves you high and dry, you don’t really have insurance. As a solo traveller, I am thoroughly comforted that KT Insurance will see to what needs to be done should something go wrong, especially with their medical emergency assistance.”
“Obviously, KT Insurance is a great member benefit, as is the friendship and fellowship amongst members, but there are a lot of great things that the CMCA do,” Roz concludes. “Encouragement of towns to become RV Friendly with installation of dump points is fantastic. The RV Friendly camps are slowly popping up too and provide a great safe haven. Any member can be a member of anything, and everyone pitches in; it really is a great club to be a part of.”
