As much as the wet weather put a bit of a dampener on the tail end of the National Rally in Bingara, NSW, the spirits of the KT Insurance team couldn’t have been brighter as we headed home with a wealth of feedback following countless constructive conversations with CMCA members. We would like to sincerely thank each attendee who interacted with us. Whether the topic was positive or negative, it was always raised respectfully with an interest in how KT Insurance could improve as an exclusive insurance provider to the CMCA, which is a relationship we value dearly.

By far, the most common area we received feedback on was pricing, specifically around excesses and premiums. In the months before the rally, Chris, myself and a number of others that you may have met at the rally had been hard at work on a review of the rating systems behind our pricing, aiming to validate potential improvements against the feedback of CMCA members attending the rally. We were able to collect valuable data at the rally and were pleased that our work towards more competitive premiums and flexible excess options aligned well with CMCA member expectations. While this is in motion, we have also chosen to implement a temporary freeze on depreciation of vehicle values in response to erratic market pricing of RVs, to limit the need for customers to worry about their insured value, which they are of course welcome to discuss with us at any time. We will continue to monitor market pricing and trends over the months ahead to ensure that we remain on top of this fluctuating situation.

Outside of pricing, the second most common request related to vehicles towed behind motorhomes, specifically those using A-frames. Across the motor insurance industry as a whole, vehicles towed by a motorhome using an A-frame is a real grey area, with motorists often left with a choice between covering the vehicle when it is being towed or when it is being driven, but not both. As KT Insurance’s Head of Product, Chris is diving headfirst into finding a solution with our underwriter, The Hollard Insurance Company. To inform this, he took the opportunity to pick the brains of Northcoach RV Equipment, a fellow long-time partner of the CMCA and the manufacturer of Australia’s only ADR-approved and legal A-frame solution. While we can’t share any further details at this stage, rest assured that feedback on this topic is being taken seriously as an area of cover desired by CMCA members in addition to our current coverage of the A-frames themselves as part of an RV’s KT Insurance policy.

As a specialist insurance provider, we won’t always be the cheapest, but we are committed to delivering value through comprehensive RV insurance that’s tailored exclusively to CMCA members. By offering top-notch service and unique policy features at the right price, we aim to give customers confidence in living life on the open road by knowing that KT Insurance is just a call away if one of those pesky ‘what ifs’ pops up. We will continue to work hard in continuously improving KT Insurance and highly value CMCA member feedback as at the end of the day, we exist exclusively to serve you. If there are other areas of improvement that you feel we should know about, don’t hesitate to email info@ktinsurance.com.au or call 1300 261 261.
