Danny & Dawns Easy Claims Experiences with KT Insurance

One of the things we value most about our partnership with the CMCA here at KT Insurance is the strong sense of community. Members are constantly looking out for one another and sharing tips to support each other’s adventures. We appreciate being part of this family and do our best to support life on the open road, so it means a lot to us when members take the time to share their feedback and experiences. At the CMCA’s National Rally in Bingara, NSW, we were fortunate to be invited into the Ford Transit Winnebago of Danny and Dawn Spencer for a chat.
“We’ve had our Ford Transit Winnebago since 2013, and we’ve been with KT ever since” Danny begins. “That’s largely because of the recommendations of our close friends and neighbours at the Bingara Rally, Sue and Tony, who have a similar RV that they bought in 2008 and insured with KT.”
“We’ve always been into travelling,” Dawn chimes in. “We do love being outdoors, and I love meeting new people and going to different places. We are travellers; we don’t go somewhere and sit there for a long time. It is fantastic travelling in our Winnebago though; we can easily go somewhere for two days or a few months!”
“A couple of Easters ago, we were away, and our awning got damaged when a storm came through,” Danny recalls. “We were able to manufacture something to at least keep the awning on the van so that we could continue enjoying ourselves but when we were packing up, the awning separated completely and dismantled itself.
“We made contact with KT and they said it was no problem but because of the age and condition of the awning, we would have to contribute a portion to the replacement,” Danny continues. “I didn’t mind because the awning would have been the age of the vehicle, a 2002 model, so it was 15 years old at the time. We were happy with that, so we got a quote and had it replaced. The service from KT’s claims team was great! The repair was in the early days of COVID, but KT kept in good contact with us and were persistent in following up with the repairers.”
“We had another great claim experience with KT Insurance after we went to the last Brisbane Caravan and Camping Show,” Danny adds. “We had the opportunity to talk to Brett from Southeast Fibreglass Services about a small fibreglass repair that we had to get done. He noticed another impact when he was looking at our van, which would cost us thousands of dollars to repair. Brett approached KT Insurance on our behalf and, after sending out an assessor, KT said straight away that they would cover the costs. It was all approved and they organised the repairs.”
“We were over the moon with the outcome and the way the process went,” states Danny. “Again, KT were really easy to talk to and followed up a few times to check on how everything was going. It was nice that KT put trust in the fibreglass repairer that we chose, and there was no question that Brett was the right person for the job, so if you have any work to be done in QLD, Southeast Fibreglass Services were amazing.”
“The whole process with KT has been easy and I want to let others know how great it was,” Dawn concludes. “When you get your insurance bill every year, you moan and groan about the cost, but when the day comes and you need to make a claim, it can be very stressful. The process with KT for both claims was so seamless and not stressful at all.”
